Regarding travel concerns that the U.S. Media continues to gab about... they are way overblown and all part of the ongoing U.S. government mantra they will never admit, but clearly continue to beat down Mexico with... that is, "Scare the hell out of American citizens about going to Mexico in order to keep American vacation dollars within the U.S. Border". In 2008, Americans spent $13.3 BILLION dollars in Mexico. The U.S. Government is a BUSINESS... they need tax revenue to operate. So, it's easy to understand why so much attention is given to negative press about Mexico. The above statement in bold is the REAL reason for the attention. Everyone that comes into my office and I see here says the same thing... they had no issues getting here, and have had none while here.
